ESG - key to our business strategy
Our business philosophy as FOM Invest is geared towards sustainable action in terms of our self-image as a shareholder and as a regulated investment management company focussing on real estate and renewable energy projects. ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance. To date, over 90 countries worldwide have set themselves a "net zero emissions" target. This generally requires a short to medium-term phase-out of fossil fuels, which must be successively replaced by renewable and emission-neutral energy sources. Real estate contributes significantly to energy consumption and CO2 pollution, both in the construction and operating phase. The EU's Disclosure and Taxonomy Regulations provide the regulatory framework to achieve the climate targets for institutional investments as well. FOM Invest has consistently integrated these ESG criteria into its processes. A network of ESG officers in all business units and the outsourcing partners ensures that this priority is embedded in the core of our business model.
- All our future and existing fund products will be launched with the aim of classifying them as at least an Article 8 product.
- Active "Manage to ESG" management covers the entire investment cycle for real estate and renewables: from the launch of new fund products to the acquisition and investment process through to the ongoing management.
In this regard we offer two different fund categories:
- Article 8 SFDR products with an integration of sustainability features
- Article 9 SFDR products with an overall sustainability impact, particularly in the renewable energy asset class (prospective)
